Forex reserves zoom $5.47bn to $281.73bn

Foreign exchange reserves increased $5.474 billion to $281.729 billion for the week ended January 11, according to data released by RBI today.

Foreign currency assets moved up $5.473 billion to $272.964 billion.

Gold reserves and SDRs were unchanged at $8.328 billion and $3 million, respectively.

Reserve Position in the IMF was up $1 million at $434 million.
