ICICI Bank in pact with mChek to launch electronic cards

ICICI Bank today entered into a tie up with leading mobile payment solutions provider, mChek to issue electronic cards to customers.        

Under the agreement, ICICI Bank in association with Visa International and mChek, will issue electronic debit and credit cards, a press release said here.        

Customer can use the electronic cards to perform various transactions like bill payments, prepaid recharges, money transfers, payment of insurance premiums and ticket purchases, it said.        

The consumer can activate the service by sending an SMS MCHEK to 5676709.        

ICICI Bank has assets of about $100-billion as on December 31, 2008.
