PNB on rural inclusion drive in Jharkhand

The chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) of PNB K C Chakrabarty launched the project said that PNB had identified 27 pilot projects including 20 in rural areas which would be started across the Indo-Gangetic belt covering 13 states in the country.
Chakrabarty said that PNB had been celebrating year 2008 as the year of financial inclusion and targeted 30,000 villages in the Indo-Gangetic plains where PNB would extend banking facilities to 1.5 crore households bringing a total of 7.5 crore individuals into the ambit of formal banking.
The CMD said that PNB had opened 7.42 lakh
