SBI strike on June 29

The award staff union at State Bank of India (SBI) "" SBI Staff Association has decided to go on a one-day strike on June 29 to protest the transfer of 80 employees in 56 branches of the West Bengal Circle.

The transfers were allegedly in violation of SBI's rules.

The transferred employees have refused to report at the new location.

SBI staff staged a 'dharna' in front of branches.

"It would continue till they are absorbed at the same branch," said Ashok Dutta, general secretary of the SBI Staff Union.
