The National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC) under the Chairmanship of the Cabinet Secretary, Shri Ajit Seth reviewed the relief work in flood affected areas of Jammu & Kashmir here today evening. The representatives of the State Government briefed the NCMC about the current situation in the State. The centre asked the State Government to provide daily report on the relief and rehabilitation assistance to the people in order to ensure that there are no gaps in distribution on the ground.
The NCMC was informed that the supply of dry ration, drinking water, blankets and medicines is being made to the State regularly through the all available means of transportation.
The Secretaries and representative of the Ministries/ Departments of Telecom, Power, Civil Aviation, Food & Consumer Affairs, Industry, Textiles, Railways, Health, Petroleum, Road Transport & Highways, Home, Defence, Border Roads Organization, Indian Meteorological Department briefed the Committee about the relief being extended by their respective Ministries/Departments for helping the people of J&K.
