Toddler shoots 2 three-year-old children at Michigan day care, says police

The wounded children have been hospitalised in critical, but stable condition

Police say a accidentally shot and injured two other at a home day care facility in suburban Detroit.

Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad says a preliminary has revealed the "accessed a and the weapon discharged" about 10:20 am yesterday.

The wounded both are believed to be three years old. They have been hospitalised in critical, but stable condition.

Haddad says the was kept in the Dearborn home, west of Detroit. Several other were at the home at the time of the shooting. Those children were taken to the police station to be reunited with their parents.

The shooting remains under No one has been charged.
