Award for XLRI student

A paper submitted by Kumar Anand, a student of XLRI Jamshedpur, has been adjudged the 'Most thought-provoking paper' at the 26th McMaster World Congress in Canada.

The paper on intellectual capital and innovation, is titled "Managing intellectual capital in growth organisations in the new knowledge economy", suggests a model framework for organisations to manage intellectual capital, a release issued by XLRI said.

Papers from 70 universities from 35 countries were evaluated at the meet.

The congress is jointly held by the DeGroote School of Business, Canada, in association with the Management of Innovation & New Technology Research Centre (Canada) and the Taiwan Intellectual Capital Research Centre.

Delegates at the meet included political leaders, managers, academicians and students. The conference has four categories, on e-business, corporate governance, intellectual capital and innovation, and PhD doctoral consortium.

Other prizewinners came from schools including University of Missouri, Technical University of Lisbon, Lappeeniranta University of Technology from Finland, University De Murcia of Spain and University of Basilicata from Italy. Canada is home of a large number of Indian students and professionals.

Anand said the meet gave him an opportunity to learn, share and interact with some of the best management brains from across the globe and tackle queries raised by the international delegates about the Indian economy.

The international meet highlighted the India Inc. brand, said Anand, who has won awards earlier at IIM Bangalore.
