Ma Foi launches 'Job Shoppes'

To tap the vast demand for jobs in the unorganised sector such as dealers, distributors, stockists, technicians, Ma Foi Management Consultants, a recruitment company, has launched its retail initiative called 'Job Shoppes'.
Addressing a press conference, K Pandia Rajan, managing director and CEO, Ma Foi Management Consultants, said, "While there are a number of job portals, the objective of this retail outlet is to provide a personal touch and feel, like giving a feedback to the person applying for a job, on the areas of fine tuning his skills, among others."
On the other hand, the consultants employed in this retail outlet will be able to provide valuable information on the personality of the person applying for the job to the recruiting company, apart from the information given in his or her resume.
These retail outlets are expected to have 250 consultants providing expertise on skill requirement and enhancement of employability of job seekers.
The job centre's revenue model is based on a fee from the companies, while not charging any fee from the applicants. Ma Foi charges about 12.5 per cent to 16 per cent of the salary ('CTC'-cost to company) as fee from the companies who recruit from these outlets.
Rajan said that these retail outlets will act as a database and an accumulation centre for candidates applying for jobs. 'Job Shoppe' will focus on dealers of large companies, stockist, technicians and small and medium enterprise sector, he added.
E Balaji, chief operating officer of the company, said the company has a high-end software which can store the data of all the people applying for jobs.
The company rolled out its job shoppe at seven locations in Mumbai three weeks ago and has plans to replicate it in Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai and Pune in the next three months. The cost of setting up a retail outlet is estimated to be Rs 3 lakh to 4 lakh.
The franchisee model would be a revenue sharing model where Ma Foi will provide the infrastructure and consultants. The franchisee will have to fund a part of the capital requirement. The outlet would be set up in large and small towns.
Job Shoppe will work along with Ma Foi Academy, a training centre to enhance the employability skills of the job aspirants.
