Nalsar University of Law, Hyderabad, is launching an MBA course this year that aims to integrate management studies with law. The course will have three major specialisations - court management, corporate governance and financial services & capital markets.
It will also have three minor specialisations in marketing, human resources and business regulations.
According to university vice chancellor Faizan Mustafa, no business school in India is at present offering court management as a specialisation in its MBA programme. From the next year, the admission to this MBA programme will be through CAT and GMAT but for this year the university will conduct its own admission test on June 30 at Bangalore, Chandigarh, Cuttack, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Visakhapatnam.
In 2012, the Supreme Court had decided to have National Court Management programme in place to improve the efficiency of our judicial system. Funds were made available out of the grants of the 13th Finance Commission of India. The Chief Justice of India heads the National Court Management Committee. All high courts have been asked to recruit court managers.
