About 64 stocks from the BSE500 index bounced back more than 5% each from their respective intra-day lows after the Sensex recovered 1% from its intra-day lows.
Berger Paints, Max Financial Services, La Opala RG, Muthoot Finance, Natco Pharma, Gayatri Projects, Relaxo Footwear and State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur have recovered an over 10% each on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
At 01:21 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 791 points at 26,211, recovering 1.1% or 300 points from early morning low of 25,911. The index tanked 1,091 points in intra-day deal as global markets roiled after Britain voted to leave the European Union.
Monsanto India, Indiabulls Real Estate, Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), Thomas Cook, Manappuram Finance, Gillette India, Escorts and Take Solutions have seen price recovery between 8%-9%.
Natco Pharma was trading higher by 1% at Rs 556, bouncing back 11% from intra-day low on the BSE. The pharmaceutical company on Thursday said that it has received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for generic version of Glycopyrrolate tablets.
“We received from our US agent on 22nd June 2016 intimating the approval for generic version of Glycopyrrolate Tablets 1mg and 2mg from US FDA (Reference Listed Drug (RLD) is Robinul Tablets, 1 mg and Robinul Forte Tablets, 2 mg, of Casper Pharma LLC),” Natco Pharma said in a statement.
At 01:44 AM, Muthoot Finance (up 5% at Rs 284) and Manappuram Finance (up 1% at Rs 64.25) were trading in green, erasing their early morning losses, as gold prices rallied to multiyear highs.
Muthoot Finance Ltd is the largest gold company in India, provides personal and business loans secured by gold jewellery, or gold Loans. Manappuram Finance provides a range of services, including gold loans, vehicle finance, insurance, foreign exchange services, distribution of mutual funds and other financial products.
Logistics companies such as Gati and Aegis Logistics were up nearly 2% each, bouncing back up to 12% as government optimistic about the passage of the crucial GST (goods and services tax) bill shortly.
