Asian markets mixed; Nikkei down 140pts

Asian markets are displaying mixed trend this morning.

The Hang Seng has rallied 268 points to 19,141. The Nikkei has shed 140 points to 11,950.

The Taiwan Weighted index is flat at 6,184 - up two points. The Straits Times index has moved up ten points to 2,486, and the Seoul Composite index has added 18 points to 1,499.

The Shanghai Composite index has dropped 50 points to 2,152.
