Bpl Plans To Relist Picture Tube Making Arm

BPL Ltd is planning to relist its colour picture tube manufacturing subsidiary, BPL Display Devices Ltd, on the Kanpur bourse next year.

Formerly Uptron Colour Picture Tube Ltd, BPL Display Devices was acquired by BPL under a rehabilitation package approved by the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) in 1996, was listed on the Kanpur, Delhi and a few other bourses when it was owned and operated by the Uttar Pradesh government. It, however, got delisted (in 1992-93) after it became a sick company and failed to comply with the stock exchange norms and did not pay requisite fees.
