Chana futures slip on subdued demand

Chana prices fell by Rs 10 to Rs 2,230 per quintal in futures trading today, as speculators reduced their positions, influenced by a falling demand in spot markets.
Increased arrivals in the physical market also weighed on the chana prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, chana for November fell by Rs 10, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 2,230 per quintal, with a business turnover of two lots.
The commodity for delivery in October also eased by Rs 3, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 2,170 per quintal, with a volume of business of three lots.
Analysts said fall in demand against adequate stocks followed by an increased arrivals in spot markets pulled down the chana prices in futures trade.
