Gur prices decline on weak demand

Gur prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on heavy supply of stocks against reduced offtake. 

Muzzafarnagar and Muradnagar gur market also finished lower in the absence of buying support.

Marketmen said heavy arrivals from manufacturing areas amid slack demand, which pulled down the gur prices.

In Delhi, gur pedi prices dropped from Rs 2,400-2,500 to settle at Rs 2,350-2,400 per quintal, while chakku prices concluded at Rs 2,300-2,350 from Rs 2,350-2,400 per quintal.

In Muradnagar, gur pedi fell from Rs 2,200-2,225 to Rs 2,175-2,225 per quintal, with a loss of Rs 25 per quintal.

Gur dhayya prices also went down from Rs 2,175-2,250 to Rs 2,100-2,175 per quintal. In Muzzafarnagar, gur chakku eased by Rs 25 to Rs 2,125-2,300 per quinal.

On the other hand, gur raskat remained in keen demand on paucity of stocks and hardened to Rs 1,800-1,900 from Rs 1,725-1,800 per quintal on alcohol and cattle-feed making industries demand.

Chakku Rs 2,300-2,350, pedi 2,350-2,400 Dhayya Rs 2,450 -2,500 and Shakkar Rs 2,550-2,600
In Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 1,800-1,900 chakku Rs 2,125 -2,300 and Khurpa Rs 2,075-2,125
In Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,100-2,175 and Dhaya Rs 2,175-2,225
