India Refuses To Join Cartel For Rice Exports

After its rejection to be a part of the coffee cartel, India has now refused to become a member of another cartel - the rice cartel propagated by Vietnam and Thailand wherein the members would export rice at a similar price.

Official sources told Business Standard that after careful analysis of the proposed scheme, India decided that it had nothing to gain from being a part of the cartel.
