Jeera declines 0.34% on sluggish demand

Jeera prices declined by Rs 50 to Rs 14,770 per quintal in futures trading today as traders reduced their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the December contract for jeera declined by Rs 50, or 0.34%, to Rs 14,770 per quintal with an open interest of 17,322 lots.

The March contract lost Rs 27.50, or 0.18%, to Rs 15,530 per quintal in 4,239 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in jeera prices at futures trade to trimming of positions by on the back of sluggish demand in the spot market mainly influenced jeera futures.
