Lead futures up 1.29% on global cues

Lead futures prices traded higher by 1.29 per cent, to Rs 110.10 per kg today, tracking firming trend in the entire base metal pack.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, lead delivery for October rose by Rs 1.40, or 1.29 per cent, to Rs 110.10 per kg, with a business volume of 978 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in November moved up by Rs 1.35, or 1.23 per cent, to Rs 110.95 per kg, with a business turnover of 190 lots.

Analysts said firming trend in base metals overseas and pick up in demand at the spot markets from battery makers, also influenced zinc futures prices.

 

Meanwhile, lead gained 1.2 per cent to $2,513.75 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
