Markets still in red; breadth turns +ve

The Sensex is now down 117 points at 13,847.

The NSE Nifty is down 22 points at 4,135.

Maruti has plunged 3% to Rs 571. ITC has dropped 2.6% to Rs 179.

ICICI Bank, Jaiprakash Associates and Hindalco have slipped 2.3% each to Rs 607, Rs 169 and Rs 142, respectively.

TCS has declined 1.8% to Rs 860. Mahindra & Mahindra and Satyam are down 1.5% each at Rs 426 and Rs 475, respectively.

Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel and Reliance are down 1% each at Rs 400, Rs 740 and Rs 2,060, respectively.

ACC has surged 3.5% to Rs 555, and Ambuja Cements has rallied 3% to Rs 79.

 

HDFC, too, has gained nearly 3% at Rs 2,155. Tata Steel has added 2.7% to Rs 697.

DLF has moved up over 2% to Rs 460. Reliance Infrastructure is up 1.6% at Rs 849.

The market breadth has turned positive - out of 2,515 stocks traded so far, 1,234 have advanced, 1,201 have declined and 80 are unchanged.
