Mentha oil down 1.8% on sluggish demand

Mentha oil futures for February fell further by 27.40, or 1.79%, to Rs 1,500 per quintal in 19 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the  March contract shed Rs 6, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 1,250 per kg in 168 lots.

Prices went down for the second straight day as speculators trimmed their positions, tracking a weak spot market trends on sluggish demand.

Higher arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also kept pressure on mentha oil futures.
