Mentha oil prices down 3.72%

Mentha oil prices fell further by Rs 80.40 to Rs 2,077.10 per kg in futures trade today as traders on profit booking amid subdued demand in spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May fell sharply by Rs 80.40, or 3.72% to Rs 2,077.10 per kg with business volume of 86 lots, while delivery in April contract, fell by Rs 62.40, or 2.77%, to Rs 2,190 per kg, with a trading volume of 314 lots.

Likewise, March delivery contract also declined by Rs 62.10, or 2.80%, to Rs 2,156 per kg, with a business turnover of 949 lots.

According to analysts, the fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to continued profit-booking by speculators amid a weak trend at spot markets.
