Mentha oil up 0.44% on spot demand

Tight supplies fuel the uptrend

Press Trust of India New Delhi

Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 6.20 to Rs 1,412 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions amid rising demand from pharmaceutical units.

Tight supplies in the physical market following restricted arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh fuelled the uptrend, traders said.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October rose by Rs 6.20, or 0.44% to Rs 1,412 per kg, with a business turnover of 8 lots.

The August contract traded marginally higher by Rs 1.20, or 0.09%, to Rs 1,361.20 per kg in 1,017 lots.
