Potato futures falls 0.28% on subdued demand

Potato futures prices declined by Rs 1.70 to Rs 613.50 per quintal today as speculators reduced positions, driven by subdued demand at spot markets.
Adequate stock positions at spot markets on increased arrivals from producing regions, also put pressure on the potato futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, potato for delivery in April declined by Rs 1.70, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 613.50 per quintal, with a trade volume of just one lot.
Potato prices for delivery in March also traded lower by Re 1, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 632 per quintal, with a business turnover of just two lots.
Traders said sluggish demand amid increased arrivals in the physical market, mainly kept pressure on the potato futures prices.
