Banking stocks have already seen a run-up in anticipation of rate cut by the central bank. A lower interest rate is expected to increase growth rate in the economy as consumers and corporate are expected to increase their borrowing. However, analysts feel that the rate cut will act as band-aid to the ailing banks, who have given loans to companies whose health is unlikely to improve by a tweaking of interest rates.
