Select pulses strengthen as demand picks up

Select commodities prices strengthened up to Rs 300 per quintal on the wholesale pulses market today on rising demand from retailers in view of marriage season, amid fall in arrivals.
Market analysts said rising demand from millers helped select commodities prices to strengthen.
In the national capital, moong and its dal chilka local rose by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 4,050-4,450 and Rs 4,950-5,350, while dhoya local and best quality traded higher Rs 100 each to Rs 5,200-5,400 and Rs 5,700-5,900 per quintal.
Masoor small and bold prices gained Rs 50 each to Rs 3,450-3,650 and Rs 3,600-3,850, while its dal local and best quality traded higher by the same margin to Rs 4200-4300 and Rs 4450-4750 per quintal.
In line with a general firming trend, kabli gram small finished higher at Rs 4,100-5,500 against last close of Rs 4,000-5,200 per quintal.
