Sensex down 146pts; HDFC sheds 4%

The Sensex has slipped deeper into red and is now down 146 points at 15,357.

The NSE Nifty is down 26 points at 4,594.

Maruti has plunged 4.7% to Rs 682. HDFC has shed 3.7% at Rs 2,475.

ICICI Bank and Sterlite have dropped 3% each to Rs 747 and Rs 607, respectively.

Infosys and Tata Power have slipped 2.7% each to Rs 1,625 and Rs 1,048, respectively. Jaiprakash Associates has declined 2.4% to Rs 193.

Tata Motors and SBI are down 2% each at Rs 438 and Rs 1,563, respectively.

Satyam has gained 1.8% at Rs 418. Hindustan Unilever is up over 1% at Rs 245.
