Sensex down 283pts; Tata Motors sheds 4.5%

The NSE Nifty is down 77 points at 5,040.

Tata Motors has tumbled 4.5% at Rs 658. ICICI Bank and Reliance Infrastructure and have plunged 3.3% each at Rs 881 and Rs 1,332, respectively.

Reliance Communications is down around 3% at Rs 586. HDFC and ITC have dropped 2.4% each to Rs 2,623 and Rs 223, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra and Jaiprakash Associates have declined 2.2% each to Rs 1,382, Rs 652 and Rs 247, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and SBI have slipped 2% each to Rs 2,930 and Rs 1,629, respectively.

DLF and Reliance have shed 1.8% each at Rs 623 and Rs 2,620, respectively.

 

Grasim, Ranbaxy and Ambuja Cements are the major losers.

TCS and Infosys are marginally gainers today.
