Sensex pares gains, up 8pts

The Sensex has pared gains and is now up eight points at 11,153. The index had touched a high of 11,213.

Hindalco has gained 1.6% at Rs 167. HLL and Hero Honda have moved up 1.4% each to Rs 227 and Rs 688, respectively.

Cipla, Grasim, Ranbaxy, NTPC and ACC have spurted over 1% each to Rs 235, Rs 2,169, Rs 404, Rs 122 and Rs 877, respectively.

ONGC has slipped 1% to Rs 1,193. BHEL and HDFC Bank are the other prominent losers.
