Sensex slips into negative

The Sensex started on a flat note at 11,149-up 14 points. The index touched a high of 11,215, but slipped into the negative zone. It managed to recover but failed to retain its firmness and therefore has again slipped to a low of 11,070. The current value of the index is now at 11,105-down 30points

Wipro slips around 3% to Rs 304. Infosys and Tata Motors have declined over 2% to Rs 1,416 and Rs 240. Sterlite is down 2% at Rs 383.
Reliance, Tata Steel and DLF are some of the other losers.

On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra is up over 3.5% at Rs 459. Jaiprakash Associates, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communication have advanced over 2% each.
