Sensex up 16pts; Ranbaxy gains 2%

The Sensex is now up 16 points at 11,723.

Ranbaxy has surged 2% to Rs 403. HDFC has advanced 1.8% to Rs 1,313.

Wipro, Tata Motors and Maruti have spurted over 1% each to Rs 532, Rs 855 and Rs 864, respectively.

NTPC has slipped 1.3% to Rs 126. Tata Steel and Reliance Communications are down 1% each at Rs 511 and Rs 306, respectively.
