Sensex up 40pts; Rel Comm slips 1%

The Sensex is now up 40 points at 11764.

HDFC, Cipla, TCS, ONGC and HDFC Bank have advanced around 1% each to Rs 1,318, Rs 251, Rs 994, Rs 1,234 and Rs 848, respectively.

Reliance Communications has slipped 1% to Rs 302. Tata Steel, Maruti and Tata Motors are the other notable losers.

The market breadth is positive - out of 1,810 stocks traded so far, 995 have advanced, 755 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
