Significant audience for retail jewellers to capture in India: WGC

Nearly 60 per cent of Indian women own gold jewellery and 37 per cent of them have not bought gold jewellery in the past but are open to buying it in the future, according to the World Gold Council's (WGC's) new report.
This presents a significant potential audience for retail jewellers to capture. Gold jewellery is the second most popular item among fashion and lifestyle shoppers -- preceded only by designer clothes and silk sarees, said the report titled 'Retail Gold Insights: India Jewellery.'
