Silver futures firm on global cues

Strong global markets pushed up the price

Silver prices went up 0.32% to Rs 59,450 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the May contract rose Rs 189, or 0.32%, to Rs 59,450 per kg in 246 lots.

Similarly, the March contract traded higher by Rs 172, or 0.30%, to Rs 58,090 per kg in 4,830 lots.

Analysts said, fresh positions by participants and firming trend in the global markets pushed up silver futures.

Silver rose 0.50% to $ 30.49 an ounce in Singapore.
