Soyabean futures fell on global cues

Press Trust of India New Delhi

Soyabean prices lost moderate grounds of Rs 7.50, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 1,985 per quintal in futures trading today on frequent selling by speculators, in line with weak global sentiment.

Marketmen said, increased supply and reduced offtake in physical markets due to lower international market cues, attributed to the fall in soyabean prices here.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, soyabean prices for the current-month September contract eased by Rs 7.50, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 1,985 per quintal, with an open interest of 26,940 lots.

The October delivery too slipped by Rs 5.50, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 1,998 per quintal, with an open interest of 96,080 lots.
