Sugar prices end steady on some support

The wholesale sugar market closed on quiet note today with prices closing at previous levels after moving in a narrow range on small bouts of buying.

Market analyst said scattered buying by retailers and bulk consumers mainly kept prices around previous levels.

Following were today's quotation in Rs per quintal.

Sugar ready M-30 2,950-3,075 and S-30 2,935-3,050.

Mill delivery M-30 2,740-2,890 and S-30 2,725-2,850.

Sugar mill gate prices (excluding duty): Kinonni 2,885, Asmoli 2,875, Mawana 2,850, Titabi 2,840, Thanabhavan 2,790, Budhana 2785 and Dorala 2,835.
