Uttam Galva hikes tags

Uttam Galva Steels, India's second-largest producer of galvanized steel, increased prices for the third time this year because of rising demand from makers of cars and home appliances.

Prices for long-term customers were raised by an average Rs 4,500 a tonne, or 10 per cent, Finance Director Ankit Miglani said yesterday. The price of cold-rolled coil was raised by 16 per cent to Rs 35,000, he said.
