Weakness persists; ONGC, Maruti hold gains

The NSE Nifty is down 73 points at 4,404.

TCS has slumped 6.7% to Rs 801, and Tata Steel has plunged 5.8% to Rs 628.

Reliance Communications has tumbled 5.3% to Rs 498. SBI has shed 4.3% at Rs 1,477.

BHEL, Mahindra & Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro and Infosys have slipped 3.7% each to Rs 1,705, Rs 534, Rs 2,665 and Rs 1,546, respectively.

ICICI Bank and NTPC have declined 3.3% each to Rs 713 and Rs 184, respectively.

Satyam and ACC have dropped 2.5% each to Rs 368 and Rs 577, respectively.

Bharti Airtel, Jaiprakash Associates and Hindustan Unilever are down around 2% each at Rs 799, Rs 169 and Rs 227, respectively.

 

ONGC has gained 2.5% at Rs 1,020, and Maruti has added 2% to Rs 619.

Reliance has advanced over 1% to Rs 2,292.

Out of 2,712 stocks traded so far, 1,524 have declined, 1,126 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
