Weakness continues; TCS, Tata Steel shed 6%

The NSE Nifty is down 60 points at 4,417.

TCS and Tata Steel have slumped over 6% each to Rs 805 and Rs 626, respectively. Reliance Communications has tumbled over 5% to Rs 498.

SBI has plunged 3.8% to Rs 1,485. BHEL, Infosys, NTPC and Larsen & Toubro have dropped 3.5% each to Rs 1,709, Rs 1,548, Rs 184 and Rs 2,674, respectively.

Satyam and Mahindra & Mahindra have shed 2.5% each at Rs 368 and Rs 540, respectively. Hindustan Unilever has slipped 2.3% to Rs 226.

ICICI Bank has declined 2% to Rs 724.

Maruti has surged 3.5% to Rs 628. ONGC has moved up 2.5% to Rs 1,019.

 

Reliance has advanced 1.3% to Rs 2,296, and Ranbaxy has added 1% to Rs 471.

Out of 2,669 stocks traded so far, 1,522 have declined, 1,082 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
