Zinc prices slipped 0.15% to Rs 103.15 per kg today, in line with a weak trend in the base metals overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in February shed 15 paise, or 0.15%, to Rs 103.15 per kg, with a trade turnover of 595 lots.

The April contract traded 5 paise, or 0.05% lower, at Rs 105.50 per kg in a turnover of 9 lots.

At the London Metal Exchange, zinc declined 0.8% to $2,106 per tonne in early trade today.

Analysts attributed the fall in zinc futures prices to a weak trend in copper and other base metals overseas on concern that demand from China and the US, the two largest users, may decline.
