6,000 HIV cases registered in Kanpur hospital in last six months

In a shocking revelation, it is found out that around 6,000 patients infected with HIV have been registered at Kanpur's Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College in the last six months.
According to Dr. Chaman Kumar of the Medical College, around 40-50 cases of people infected with HIV are registered every month.
Officials say that awareness among the people is the reason behind this increasing figure.
There has been increase in the number of cases, especially in the rural areas.
