Abdul Fattah al-Sisi named Egypt's new president with 96.9% votes

Former army Chief, Abdul Fattah al-Sisi has been declared the new president of Egypt, beating his challenger, left-winger Hamdeen Sabahi, with 96.9 percent votes.
The retired field marshal overthrew President Mohammed Morsi last July and has been in a battle with Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood, BBC reported.
Thousands of Sisi supporters were seen celebrating in the famous Tahrir Square.
Al-Sisi thanked voters saying that he hoped to stand by people's trust and urged Egyptians to work to restore stability.
