Anantapur train accident: PM Modi condoles death of MLA Venkatesh Naik

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday condoled the death of veteran Congress leader and Karantaka MLA Venkatesh Naik, who was killed in a rail accident in Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district today.

"My condolences to the family of Karnataka MLA Shri Venkatesh Naik. He will be remembered for his service to society," Prime Minister Modi tweeted on PMO's official twitter handle.

At least five persons were killed and another 25 were injured today morning when the Bangalore-Nanded Express train collided with lorry which was crossing the railway track in Anantpur, Andhra Pradesh.

The collision resulted in the derailment of four coaches.
