The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President N. Srinivasan said here today that that the last few days have been difficult for the BCCI and for him as the president and made it very clear that he is in no mood to resign as no one has asked him to.
The BCCI top brass also said, "Also difficult for me as a father and a father-in-law. I sit here and put aside all personal feelings. I will not shirk from my duty. The BCCI will act without fear or favour. We will investigate."
The Chennai Super Kings owner also added he won't shirk his responsibility as the BCCI President.
"The BCCI's anti-corruption unit report on the Rajasthan Royals players will be issued on time. The BCCI will provide all help."
"With Gurunath Meiyappan the legal process has already started. He has been banned immediately. The disciplinary procedure will be initiated. A commission, including a member independent of BCCI, will investigate into this. I am not part of this commission. I will not play any role in its appointment or its work," Srinivasan further added.
Srinivasan has been under enormous pressure to quit after his son-in-law and Chennai Super Kings CEO Gurunath Meiyappan was arrested for allegedly indulging in betting. Srinivasan is the owner of the Chennai Super Kings franchise.
BCCI vice-President Arun Jaitley also had a meeting with Srinivasan though it is not known exactly what the two discussed.
Today the final of the IPL will also be played in Kolkata between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
