BJP to press for debates on national security, declining economy

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) disclosed here today that they want certain issues of 'concern' to be discussed in Parliament and said that while legislation can take place, certain pressing issues of public concern need to be highlighted.

BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said here today said that the issues were national security and the declining Indian economy.

"In the Business Advisory committee on behalf of the BJP we strongly articulated that while legislation can take place, certain pressing issues of public concern also needs to be highlighted. And we particularly flagged two issues, first a debate on national security and second a debate on the state of Indian economy particularly declining rupee against the dollar, declining industrial production. All these are issues to be talked about, plus the CBI, IB tiff, terrorism, explosion etc.," he told media here today.

 

Meanwhile, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kamal Nath said that the Business Advisory Committee has allocated time for various important bills to come up and he is hopeful that the Parliament would be functioning and conducting business from tomorrow onwards.
