Bopanna-Mergea advance to Washington Open semis

Indian tennis ace Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea advanced to the men's doubles semi-finals of the Washington Open after receiving a walkover from Bulgarian-American combine of Grigor Dimitrov and Mardy Fish.

Dimitrov pulled out of the quarter-final contest at William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center citing an injury to his right shoulder.

The Indo-Romanian tennis duo will next face the winners of the match between American top seeds Bob and Mike Bryan and Filipino-American pair of Treat Huey and Scott Lipsky.
