Buckingham Palace is looking for a Royal Horological Conservator to wind up the Queen's 1,000 clocks and make sure they are always accurate, all for a salary of 31,200 pounds.
The clock-watcher would have to ensure the clocks are changed when they go forward in March and back again in October, and also be responsible for the conservation, restoration and maintenance of timepieces in the Royal Collection, which range from turret clocks to pocket watches at all royal residences around the country, the Mirror reported.
According to the advertisement posted on the Queen's official website, the Palace requires a clock expert who is "experienced at working with hand and machine tools" and who has the ability to "strip and clean mechanisms, make new parts", and also have an ability to work to strict deadlines.
The position holder, who will be paid 31,200 pounds, will be based at the Buckingham Palace and look after clocks at nearby St James's Palace and Clarence House, but will also have to travel between Windsor Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Balmoral and Sandringham.
