CBI arrests former Congress MP in Saradha scam

Former Congress Member of Parliament Matang Singh was on Saturday arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Saradha chit-fund scam.

Singh had, however, earlier in the day claimed that he has been summoned by the CBI as a witness in the case.

"I have come here under 160 CrPC like a witness," he said.

The CBI has so far questioned several Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders in connection with the Saradha chit-fund scam.
