The Communist Party of China's (CPC) has proposed to remove the two-term restriction for the presidency from the country's Constitution.
According to Xinhua News agency, a proposal by the CPC Central Committee, which was made public on Sunday, will allow the President and Vice-President of China to serve more than two consecutive terms.
This change in the constitution would allow the Chinese President Xi Jinping to remain as leader after he is due to step down.
