Congress leader Ahmed Patel on Saturday called for a transparent mechanism to determine the salaries and pension of the Members of Parliament.
"Farmers are being deprived of fair MSP and Jawans of OROP, is this the right time to hike salaries/pension for MP's?" he tweeted.
"Instead a transparent mechanism should be explored to determine salaries/pension of MP's," he added.
Patel's reaction came after several AAP MLAs allegedly asked the Delhi Government for a hike in their allowances citing difficulty in meeting up with their expenses.
This move has evoked sharp response from the opposition parties.
