Former NBA star Dennis Rodman has said he should be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Rodham, who struck up a friendship with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un earlier this year, said he wants credit for his diplomatic efforts.

He told Sports Illustrated that his mission is to break the ice between hostile countries.

He added that if he did not finish in the top three for the next Nobel Peace Prize, something's seriously wrong, Politico reports.

Rodman said he's making a return trip to North Korea next month and just chill, play some basketball and maybe go on vacation with Kim and his family.

He added that he hoped to broker a deal for the release of imprisoned American citizen Kenneth Bae while there.
