Dilshan joins elite '10000 ODI scorers' club'

ANI Johannesburg

Sri Lanka's destructive batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan on Sunday became the 11th cricketer and the fourth Sri Lankan to complete 10,000 runs in one-day international cricket.

The 38-year-old all-rounder reached the landmark in his 319th match, when he took a single off Shoaib Malik to move to 55, before being run out on 63 in the fifth and final ODI against Pakistan in Hambontota, Sport24 reported.

Dilshan, who has now compiled 10, 008 runs, has joined former Sri Lankan greats Sanath Jayasuriya , Kumar Sangakkara, and Mahela Jayawardene in the coveted list topped by Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
